TURKIC WORLD WOMEN’S STUDIES JOURNAL ETHICAL PRINCIPLES AND PUBLICATION POLICY

PUBLICATION ETHICS STATEMENT

The Turkic World Women’s Studies Journal adheres to the ethical publishing standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) (https://publicationethics.org/).

The journal requires that its editors, editorial board members, and reviewers comply with the ethical publishing standards defined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) (https://publicationethics.org/).

The Turkic World Women’s Studies Journal is published twice a year, in the Spring and Autumn. An annual index of the journal is prepared at the end of each year and published in the Autumn issue. Within a month of publication, the journal is sent to international indexing institutions designated by the editorial board.

This journal aims to publicly share scientific publications focusing on all aspects of the human condition across the fields of social and humanities sciences, educational sciences, health sciences, and natural sciences. Additionally, it features original and creative works on the history, culture, literature, language, and folklore of the Turkic world, as well as articles introducing and evaluating significant works and figures relevant to the Turkic world.

Manuscripts submitted to the Turkic World Women’s Studies Journal must not have been published previously. Presentations given at scientific conferences may be accepted, provided this is indicated.

The primary languages of the journal are Turkish and English. However, articles written in Russian or other Turkic languages may also be published if they meet publication standards. The journal may also include translations and reviews.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors bear full responsibility for the originality of the articles submitted to the journal, the proper use of citations, and adherence to ethical standards. Authors are required to confirm that the articles they submit to the journal have not been published or are under consideration elsewhere. Furthermore, authors must use plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin or iThenticate, to check their submissions and include the similarity report with their manuscript. Articles with a similarity rate of 20% or higher will not be reviewed. When necessary, the editor may also screen the articles for plagiarism (via Turnitin or iThenticate).

Photos, tables, figures, or other copyrighted materials included in the article can only be published if appropriate permissions and copyright approvals have been obtained.

The author(s) are responsible for ensuring the inclusion of correct and relevant author names, titles, affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID information in compliance with the journal’s publication guidelines.

If raw data regarding submitted articles is requested during the evaluation process, authors are required to provide such data to the editorial and scientific boards. Authors who detect a significant scientific error or inaccuracy in their published work must promptly contact the editorial office to retract or correct the article.

Authors are also responsible for adhering to the ethical standards outlined in Article 4 of the Inter-University Board's Directive on Scientific Research and Publication Ethics (http://www.uak.gov.tr/yonetmelikler/Yay%C4%B1nEti%C4%9FiY%C3%B6nergesi_140318.pdf).

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers, upon accepting an invitation to review, must adhere to ethical principles, international standards for peer review, and confidentiality agreements.

All manuscripts submitted to the journal are subject to double-blind peer review. The editors review the manuscripts initially, and once they pass technical checks, they are sent to two field experts without disclosing the author’s identity. Authors are not informed of the reviewers' identities. Reports are kept on file for five years.

Reviewers must guarantee that they will not disclose or share any part of the article or its review process.

The review process considers originality, methodology, ethical compliance, consistency of findings and conclusions, and relevance to the literature.

Publication Review Process and Outcome

The standard review period for reviewers is three weeks. Authors must implement any correction suggestions from reviewers or editors within 15 days, following the "correction guidelines." Reviewers may request multiple rounds of revisions if necessary.

If one review is favorable and the other is unfavorable, the manuscript will be sent to a third reviewer. Authors should revise their work according to the suggestions and criticisms of the editorial board and reviewers. If authors disagree with any suggestions, they may submit a report explaining their reasons to the editorial board. A copy of manuscripts deemed unsuitable for publication can be returned to authors upon request.

Editors review the feedback from reviewers within two weeks and make a final decision to present to the editorial board.
